Every first Sunday of the month the village of Azeitão hosts a huge market with something for everyone. Our eyes caught these big tubs. Easily sizing up to 300 and 500 liters. Later we even discovered ones of 700 liters and 1000 liters (one cubic meter!).

It turned out to be a very seasonal product meant to hold grapes and used to press grapes presumably with bare feet!

We had to get one.

We do not have many grapes, but it sure is an amazing tub for two people to enjoy intimate cool downs during hot Summers. We are still brooding on a way to use it in Winter and find an easy (energy efficient…) way to heat the water…
