With all the pampering of the tree-lines the first couple of centimeters of soil already show a lot of mini-life and a different, darker color. Unfortunately this is not the case with the areas in between the lines. The higher the drier and the greater the resemblance to the skull of an aged man. The soil’s message can not be misunderstood. Yet another experience from which we draw lessons: The key-line plowing has improved our water catchment greatly but the absence of a subsoiler and proper seeding at the time now shows.
