Eh keylines? Well, contourlines and then optimized, to keep the water of the rain and water coming from higher up as long as possible in our land. To avoid erosion of soil and to facilitate the roots of the plants we seed. You can see the lines clearly in the photo that Gijs made with his little drone. This is where we should introduce Miguel, our spanish friend from the Extremadura. The name says it all, Extremadura so Miguel knows what to do when the land gets tough. I met Miguel in La Loma, Spain during a course of Ernest Götsch and he became a brother-of-the-heart. We are grateful that he wants to guide us in this process and he started with teaching us how to establish the key-lines with tools accessible to everybody and more accurate than a laser. From that he mapped down the key-lines and instructed Lucas, a local boy, how to open up the lines with his tractor and Miguel’s tool.
